Nine high-ranking officials of the Vietnam People’s Army and Minstry of Public Security received promotions in Hanoi on December 12.
The promoted officials are
Lieutenant-General (Lt. Gen.) Tran Dai Quang, Minister of Public
Security; Lt. Gen. Dang Van Hieu, Permanent Deputy Minister of Public
Security; Lt. Gen. Ngo Xuan Lich, Chairman of the Vietnam People’s Army
General Department of Politics; Lt. Gen. Do Ba Ty, Chief-of-the-General
Staff of the Vietnam People's Army; and four Deputy Ministers of
Defence, including Lt. Gen. Nguyen Thanh Cung, Lt. Gen. Truong Quoc
Khanh, Lt. Gen. Nguyen Chi Vinh and Lt. Gen. Le Huu Duc; as well as
Commander of the Vietnamese Navy, Admiral Nguyen Van Hien.
Addressing
the ceremony to announce the promotions, State President Truong Tan
Sang urged the honoured officials to uphold the heroic tradition of the
People’s Army and People’s Public Security forces, maintain their
revolutionary ethics and loyalty to the Party and the nation, and
continue studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s moral example in order to
successfully fulfil their tasks assigned by the Party, State and people.
The
promotions are symbols of appreciation from the Party, State and people
for the officials’ and armed forces’ contributions, merits and
achievements, said the State President.
